A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE SENECA HIGH SCHOOL "LADY CATS" VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM OF OCONEE COUNTY ON WINNING THE 1999 CLASS AAA STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the Seneca High School "Lady Cats" Varsity Basketball Team of Oconee County defeated the Holly Hill-Roberts High School "Lady Bulldogs" 58-50 to capture the 1999 Class AAA State Basketball Championship; and

Whereas, the "Lady Cats" ended the 1999 campaign with a 28-2 record; and

Whereas, this was the "Lady Cats" second state championship during Regional Head Coach of the Year, Amanda Holder's twenty-five year coaching career at Seneca High School; and

Whereas, the 1999 "Lady Cats" Varsity Basketball Team roster included All Region honorees Julie Talley, Velvet Dotson, and Amanda Byko; and

Whereas, the team ended the season with nineteen consecutive wins and eighteen consecutive home game wins; and

Whereas, the 1999 team exhibited a team spirit and enthusiasm which was the cornerstone that allowed it to fulfill its destiny as a championship team; and

Whereas, Head Coach, Amanda Holder, Assistant Coach, Idasa Cobb, and the members of the "Lady Cats", deserve a special commendation for winning the Class AAA State Basketball Championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Seneca High School "Lady Cats" Varsity Basketball Team of Oconee County on winning the 1999 Class AAA State Basketball Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Seneca High School "Lady Cats" Varsity Basketball Team Head Coach, Amanda Holder.
