A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE BULLDOGS OF HOLLY HILL-ROBERTS HIGH SCHOOL IN ORANGEBURG COUNTY ON WINNING THE STATE 1999 CLASS AAA BOYS BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the Holly Hill-Roberts High School Bulldogs captured the 1999 Class AAA State Boys Basketball Championship, defeating W. J. Keenan High School 73-55; and

Whereas, this victory gives Holly Hill-Roberts its third state title in four years; and

Whereas, throughout their season, the Bulldogs displayed exceptional athletic ability, precision teamwork, and a keen competitive spirit of competition, resulting in an outstanding 28-4 season; and

Whereas, these fine athletes were guided through the season by the outstanding leadership and skilled coaching of Mr. Willie Thomas; and

Whereas, Coach Thomas and each member of the team are to be commended for their strong personal commitment and great perseverance through many long hours of practice, hard work, and sacrifice; and

Whereas, the General Assembly is pleased to have this opportunity to recognize and commend this outstanding team, its coaches, and school personnel for accomplishing this prestigious basketball achievement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Bulldogs of Holly Hill-Roberts High School in Orangeburg County on winning the State 1999 Class AAA Boys Basketball Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Holly Hill-Roberts High School, Coach Thomas, and the Boys Basketball Team.
