A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS AND OFFICERS OF MOUNT PISGAH BAPTIST CHURCH OF REMBERT FOR ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-SIX YEARS OF SPIRITUAL OUTREACH AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE REMBERT AND SUMTER COMMUNITIES.

Whereas, Mount Pisgah Baptist Church of Rembert, South Carolina, has written a historical record of the one hundred thirty-six years of worship services; and

Whereas, the officers and members join to recognize the contributions of the original organizers; and

Whereas, Mount Pisgah is among the oldest organized Black Baptist Churches in Sumter County; and

Whereas, the chairpersons and members of the Church History Committee and the Anniversary Committee worked diligently to prepare the history of the church and provide financial support for the operation of Mount Pisgah; and

Whereas, the pastor, deacons, trustees, members, and all related ministries work harmoniously to provide a warm Christian sanctuary for this community and to touch the lives of all who come to worship; and

Whereas, the church's affiliation with the Wateree Lower Division Baptist Association and the Wateree Union Lower Division of Sumter County, the Baptist Education and Mission Convention, as well as the Congress of Christian Education of South Carolina enables the church to receive Christian support throughout the State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the members and officers of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church of Rembert for one hundred thirty-six years of spiritual outreach and contributions to the Rembert and Sumter communities.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Reverend Anthony Taylor, Pastor, on behalf of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
