TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO NAME THE PORTION OF SOUTH FIFTH AVENUE BETWEEN MAIN STREET AND HAMPTON STREET IN THE TOWN OF DILLON, IN HONOR OF JUDGE MARION HARDY "SON" KINON AND TO ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS.
Whereas, the Honorable Marion Hardy "Son" Kinon served with distinction as a member of the House of Representatives from Dillon County from 1957 until 1960, from 1978 to 1979, and from 1989 until 1998; and
Whereas, he was a highly respected Circuit Judge from 1979 to 1989; and
Whereas, both his legislative and judicial service were exemplary; and
Whereas, it is appropriate and fitting to name the portion of South Fifth Avenue between Main Street and Hampton Street in the Town of Dillon in honor of Judge Marion Hardy "Son" Kinon. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly requests the Department of Transportation to name the portion of South Fifth Avenue between Main Street and Hampton Street in the Town of Dillon, Son Kinon Boulevard, and to erect appropriate markers or signs reflecting this designation.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
