A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-101-390 SO AS TO PROHIBIT PROVISIONAL FRESHMEN OR PROVISIONAL TRANSFER STUDENTS FROM ATTENDING STATE FOUR-YEAR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS BEGINNING WITH THE FALL TERM OF 2000 AND THEREAFTER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 59-101-390. Provisional freshmen or provisional transfer students may not attend state four-year higher education institutions beginning with the fall term of 2000 and thereafter."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
