A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' SOCCER TEAM FOR THEIR SUCCESSFUL 1999 SEASON, CULMINATING IN VICTORY IN THE STATE AAAA GIRLS' SOCCER TOURNAMENT AND TO EXTEND THE TEAM, ITS COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS THE PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AT A DATE AND TIME TO BE DETERMINED BY THE SPEAKER FOR THE PURPOSE OF BEING RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR SUCCESSFUL SEASON.

Whereas, the Hillcrest High School Girls' Soccer Team, the Lady Rams, the pride of Simpsonville, in a run through the State AAAA Girls' Soccer Tournament in Columbia took the state championship in a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Spring Valley High School; and

Whereas, this championship is Hillcrest High School's first team title of the 1990s and culminates a hard fought season and tournament preliminaries; and

Whereas, the team, particularly those seniors who planned and worked for this victory for their whole careers in high school soccer, represent the hard work, dedication, and devotion to a common goal that reflects the finest traditions of high school athletics; and

Whereas, Head Coach Butch Clark and Assistant Coach Ralston Moore performed yeoman service in coaching this outstanding team to its ultimate success and so honed the skills of the players that three of the four graduating seniors have signed to play collegiate girls' soccer and the fourth senior could have so chosen. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Hillcrest High School Girls' Soccer Team, the "Lady Rams", and its coaches on its victory in the State AAAA Girls' Soccer Tournament.

Be it further resolved that the privilege of the floor of the House of Representatives be extended to the Hillcrest High School Girls' Soccer Team, the "Lady Rams", its coaches, and school officials at a date and time to be determined by the Speaker for the purpose of being recognized for winning the 1999 State AAAA Girls' Soccer Tournament.
