A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO NOT CLOSE THE TOOLS FORK BRIDGE AND THE WILDCAT CREEK BRIDGE ON SQUIRE ROAD IN YORK COUNTY.

Whereas, the citizens of the Squire Estates Community oppose the closing of the Tools Fork Bridge and the Wildcat Creek Bridge on Squire Road in York County; and

Whereas, both bridges should remain open because their closings would increase the response time for emergency vehicles dispatched to serve Squire Estates and thereby lead to higher fire insurance rates for the community's homeowners; and

Whereby, closing both bridges will increase the time for adults and children who live in this community to commute to their jobs and schools. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina requests the Department of Transportation to not close the Tools Fork Bridge and the Wildcat Creek Bridge on Squire Road in York County.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
