A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE COACHES AND MEMBERS OF THE LEWISVILLE HIGH SCHOOL "LIONS" FOOTBALL TEAM FOR AN OUTSTANDING 1998 EFFORT, ENDING THE SEASON WITH A WELL DESERVED CLASS A TITLE VICTORY.

Whereas, Lewisville High School Lions seized the 1998 Class A Title victory over the Johnsonville Golden Flashes at Williams-Brice Stadium with an explosive 28-7 victory while ending their triumphant season with an outstanding 12-3 record; and

Whereas, the Lions of Lewisville High School exhibited a classic ability to perform under pressure while holding their opponents to single digits in seven of their 15 games and taking charge to gain victories after fighting several close-scoring first halves; and

Whereas, the Lions, endowed with superb talent and athleticism, demonstrated team unity, determination, and strength facilitated by an accomplished coaching staff which allowed the team a second title in three consecutive years; and

Whereas, in recognition of the many hours of practice, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice reflecting the Lewisville High School football team's determination to win the Class A Title victory, the members of the General Assembly wish to publicly recognize and congratulate this outstanding group of students and their coaches upon their tremendous victory. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, extend their heartiest congratulations to the coaches and members of the Lewisville High School Lions football team on the occasion of their winning the Class A Title victory game played at Williams-Brice Stadium on December 5, 1998.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Lions football team of Lewisville High School.
