TO AMEND ARTICLE 5, CHAPTER 23 OF TITLE 58, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE CARRIERS AND ANNUAL APPLICATIONS AND LICENSE FEES, BY ADDING SECTION 58-23-555 SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE SEMIANNUAL FEE FOR THE HOLDER OF A "CERTIFICATE C" HAVING TWENTY OR MORE VEHICLES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 5, Chapter 23 of Title 58 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 58-23-555. A holder of a certificate C with twenty or more vehicles shall semiannually on or before January first and July first pay to the commission the following fees: for vehicles weighing not more than two thousand pounds, seven dollars fifty cents; and for vehicles weighing in excess of two thousand pounds, seven dollars fifty cents for the first two thousand pounds and two dollars fifty cents per each additional five hundred pounds, or portion of five hundred pounds, of weight; provided, however, that the total license fee pursuant to this section shall not exceed fifty dollars per vehicle semiannually."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
