A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE LADY CATS OF SENECA HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING THE 1999 CLASS AAA STATE SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the Lady Cats of Seneca High School have won the 1999 Class AAA state softball championship; and

Whereas, the Lady Cats won the best-of-three series final against Brookland-Cayce High School to capture the state crown; and

Whereas, Seneca swept Chester High School in the semi-finals to advance to the state title series, thereby winning the Class AAA Upperstate crown; and

Whereas, the Lady Cats also were the Region I-Class AAA champs for 1999 and were the champions of the Crescent Tournament; and

Whereas, Seneca, guided by Head Coach Karen Edwards, finished the 1999 softball season with a stellar 28-3 record and shut-out opponents fifteen times; and

Whereas, the Lady Cats exhibited hard work, talent, dedication, and unity throughout their championship series and are highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Lady Cats of Seneca High School on winning the 1999 Class AAA state softball championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Lady Cats softball team of Seneca High School, in care of Head Coach Karen Edwards.
