TO COMMEND JAMAR GLENN OF BOWMAN FOR HIS OUTSTANDING ALL-ROUND ATHLETIC ABILITIES AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON THE OCCASION OF HIS OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AT THE 1999 SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS RECENTLY HELD AT LOWER RICHLAND HIGH SCHOOL.
Whereas, Jamar Glenn is known in his hometown of Bowman as an all-round athlete with great potential in any sport in which he participates; and
Whereas, following his sterling participation in the South Carolina High School League Track and Field Championships recently held at Lower Richland High School, Jamar Glenn is now known statewide as a talented athlete and a championship competitor in track and field events; and
Whereas, earning high accolades in his first year of running track, Jamar Glenn dazzled spectators and fellow competitors at the recent 1999 South Carolina High School League Track and Field Championships held at Lower Richland High School; and
Whereas, Jamar Glenn capped off a spectacular first-year track season by taking first place in three events in the Class A division of the championship meet, to wit: the speedster took first place honors in the one hundred meter dash with a time of 10.99 seconds, just over one-half second off the state record of 10.4 seconds; he won the two hundred meter dash with a time of 22.25 seconds, just 1.1 seconds off the state record of 21.1 seconds; and he blitzed the four hundred meter dash with a time of 50.11 seconds. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, commend Jamar Glenn of Bowman for his outstanding all-round athletic abilities and congratulate him on the occasion of his outstanding performance at the 1999 South Carolina High School League Track and Field Championships recently held at Lower Richland High School.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jamar Glenn of Bowman.
