A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE LAMAR HIGH SCHOOL "SILVER FOXES" BOYS TRACK TEAM ON WINNING THE CLASS A BOYS STATE TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1999.

Whereas, the Lamar High School "Silver Foxes" Boys Track Team clinched the 1999 Class A State Boys State Track and Field Championship with an exciting finish in the final event of the meet at Lower Richland High School; and

Whereas, while the Lamar High School Boys Track Team has successfully won eight consecutive regional track and field titles, this State Class A Championship is the first state title in the history of the school for boys track and field; and

Whereas, the "Silver Foxes" worked hard and were dedicated and committed to succeeding as a team and their record shows the tremendous success of their effort; and

Whereas, this fine group of young men is composed of Dewitt Ellerbe, Corry Coe, Nick Johnson, Norman Price, Shon Shuler, Lucas Richardson, Kevin Windham, A. J. Allen, Wilshawn Commander, D. J. Gilmore, Marcus Fox, Chris McMicheal, Fredrick Gambrell, James Gambrell, Rick McFadden, Shawnta Holmes, Anthony McFadden, Emmanuel Dobson, Pat Woods, Reggie Gee, and Ramel Lyde; and

Whereas, the Silver Foxes and their very able Coach Charlie Poole are to be commended for their countless hours of practice, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice which has brought great pride to the school, the Lamar community, and the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, the attainment of this tremendous victory and record-setting championship was also made possible through the unwavering support, enthusiasm, and encouragement of Principal, Dr. Andrea Kelly and Athletic Director, Dan Poole, long time coach, mentor, and promoter of Lamar athletics and father of Coach Charlie Poole; and

Whereas, in recognition of this superb team, its outstanding athletic ability, and overall strong character, the members of the General Assembly wish to publicly recognize and congratulate this distinguished group of athletes, their coach, and school officials. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That, by this resolution, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly congratulate the Lamar High School "Silver Foxes" Boys Track Team on winning the Class A Boys State Track and Field Championship for 1999.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Andrea Kelly, Principal, Coach Charlie Poole, and the Lamar High School "Silver Foxes" Boys Track Team.
