A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO DIRECT THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD TO REVISE, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2001, THE PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFIT FOR STATE HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN MEMBERS FROM THE COPAYMENT METHOD TO A REIMBURSEMENT METHOD SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR TO THE PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFIT PROVIDED UNDER THE PLAN IN CALENDAR YEAR 1999.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The State Budget and Control Board shall revise the prescription drug benefit provided under the State Health Insurance Plan from a copayment method to a reimbursement method substantially similar to the prescription drug benefit provided under the plan in calendar year 1999. The revised prescription drug benefit required by this joint resolution must apply effective January 1, 2001.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
