TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-7-75 SO AS TO REQUIRE A HOSPITAL RECEIVING STATE FUNDS TO REQUIRE EACH EMPLOYEE AND PHYSICIAN WITH HOSPITAL PRIVILEGES TO UNDERGO, AT THE HOSPITAL'S EXPENSE, AN ANNUAL PHYSICAL EXAMINATION AND TO REQUIRE THAT THE RESULTS BE PROVIDED TO THE EMPLOYEE OR PHYSICIAN AND TO THE HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 44-7-75. A hospital that receives state funds, through Medicaid reimbursement or otherwise, shall require each hospital employee and any physician with hospital privileges to undergo, at the expense of the hospital, an annual physical examination. Results of the examination must be provided to the employee or physician and to the hospital administrator."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
