A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO DAVID PEARSON OF SPARTANBURG, AT A DATE AND TIME TO BE DETERMINED BY THE SPEAKER, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONGRATULATING HIM ON BEING NAMED BY SPORTS ILLUSTRATED AS THE TOP STOCK CAR DRIVER OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, AND PRESENTING HIM WITH AN APPROPRIATE RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR HIS OUTSTANDING STOCK CAR RACING CAREER AND STERLING EXAMPLE OF SPORTSMANSHIP OVER MANY YEARS IN THE HIGHLY COMPETITIVE SPORT OF STOCK CAR RACING.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the privilege of the floor of the South Carolina House of Representatives is extended to David Pearson of Spartanburg, at a date and time to be determined by the Speaker, for the purpose of congratulating him on being named by Sports Illustrated as the top stock car driver of the twentieth century, and presenting him with an appropriate resolution expressing the appreciation of the General Assembly for his outstanding stock car racing career and sterling example of sportsmanship over many years in the highly competitive sport of stock car racing.
