TO COMMEND SERGEANT MARK JONES OF THE LEXINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF LEXINGTON COUNTY AND SOUTH CAROLINA AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON THIS SPECIAL OCCASION OF HIS BEING SELECTED AS DEPUTY OF THE YEAR BY THE LEXINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S FOUNDATION.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are keenly aware of the extraordinary contribution that law enforcement officers such as Sergeant Mark Jones make to their communities in protecting the lives and property of their fellow citizens, sometimes at the risk of their own life, health, and safety; and

Whereas, Sergeant Mark Jones is being recognized by the Lexington County Sheriff's Foundation as its Deputy Sheriff of the Year; this is an outstanding award to bestow on this very worthy officer; and

Whereas, Sergeant Mark Jones of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department has worked in many capacities in the Sheriff's Department and is now the sergeant in charge of the residential deputy program in the southern part of the county known as the Horse Neck; and

Whereas, Sergeant Jones deserves this honor for his exceptional dedication to the children of the community whom he works with closely and takes to many special events. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives by this resolution, commend Sergeant Mark Jones of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department for his years of dedicated service to the people of Lexington County and South Carolina as a law enforcement officer and congratulate him on the special occasion of being selected as the Deputy of the Year by the Lexington County Sheriff's Foundation.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Sergeant Mark Jones of Lexington.
