A HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM OF T. L. HANNA HIGH SCHOOL OF ANDERSON ON WINNING THE ANNUAL SOUTH CAROLINA SPEECH AND DEBATE TOURNAMENT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the Speech and Debate Team of T. L. Hanna High School of Anderson captured the annual South Carolina Speech and Debate Tournament state championship; and

Whereas, over three hundred eighty students representing twenty-three schools from across the Palmetto State competed in the two-day tournament; T. L. Hanna High, coached by Ms. Gladys Robertson, had forty-four students participating and scored the most overall points to win the state title and also clinched the AAAA championship; and

Whereas, this victory represents the sixth championship won by the T. L. Hanna Speech and Debate Team in just nine years; and

Whereas, this is a major educational accomplishment; the T. L. Hanna Speech and Debate Team has brought honor to the school, the City of Anderson, and Anderson County, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to recognize this excellent group of young people. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the Speech and Debate Team of T. L. Hanna High School of Anderson on winning the annual South Carolina Speech and Debate Tournament state championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the T. L. Hanna High School Speech and Debate Team and Coach Gladys Robertson.
