A BILL

TO AMEND ARTICLE 11, CHAPTER 5, TITLE 50, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO SHRIMP, BY ADDING SECTION 50-5-1102, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2000, NO PERSON LICENSED AS A COMMERCIAL SALTWATER FISHERMAN OR AS A WHOLESALE SEAFOOD DEALER MAY OBTAIN A SHRIMP BAITING LICENSE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Article 11, Chapter 5, Title 50 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-5-1102. Effective July 1, 2000, no person licensed as a commercial saltwater fisherman or as a wholesale seafood dealer may obtain a shrimp baiting license."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
