HONORING THE LATE MAYOR OF PATRICK, SOUTH CAROLINA, THE HONORABLE W. C. HOFFMAN, BY RECOGNIZING HIS TEN AND ONE-HALF YEARS OF SELFLESS LEADERSHIP TO THAT CHESTERFIELD COUNTY TOWN.
Whereas, the Honorable W. C. Hoffman, Mayor of Patrick, South Carolina, died January 6, 2000; and
Whereas, he is survived by his wife of almost sixty years, Louise Polson Hoffman; and
Whereas, the late Mayor left a legacy of ten and one-half years of service to that Chesterfield County town; and
Whereas, his enlightened leadership included the development and institution of the Pine Straw Festival, an annual gathering of citizens and visitors for fun, fellowship, and fanfare; and
Whereas, the citizens of Patrick recall his tenure at the helm of their town with pride and fondness; and
Whereas, it is fitting for the members of the House of Representatives to honor those public servants who so ably carry out the executive duties of the hundreds of towns, cities, and counties in their districts. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That members of the House of Representatives do hereby honor the late Mayor of Patrick, South Carolina, the Honorable W. C. Hoffman, by recognizing his ten and one-half years of selfless leadership to that Chesterfield County town.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his widow, Mrs. W. C. Hoffman.
