A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING AND THANKING DR. TOM WHITE, PRINCIPAL OF BOILING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, FOR HIS LEADERSHIP IN PUBLIC EDUCATION AND FAITHFUL SERVICE TO SPARTANBURG SCHOOL DISTRICT 2, AND WISHING HIM HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS IN HIS NEW POSITION FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT AS PRINCIPAL AT BOILING SPRINGS HIGH.

Whereas, Dr. Tom White has provided outstanding leadership in public education as Principal of Boiling Springs High School in Spartanburg County and has rendered faithful and excellent service to Spartanburg School District 2; and

Whereas, Dr. White is retiring this year as Principal of Boiling Springs High and is leaving Spartanburg School District 2; he will then be taking a position in the administrative offices of Spartanburg School District 1 as Coordinator of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction; and

Whereas, Dr. White came to School District 2 as Director of the H. B. Swofford Career Center and made significant strides in implementing the "School to Work" program; he then served the school district as Principal of Boiling Springs High School, where he provided the district, the community, and the school's students with four outstanding years of dedication and success; and

Whereas, his tenure at Boiling Springs High witnessed many significant changes in the educational process; because of his vision, knowledge, and leadership, that process was highly successful; and

Whereas, we are very pleased to have this opportunity to recognize and salute this outstanding individual and educational leader. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends and thanks Dr. Tom White, Principal of Boiling Springs High School in Spartanburg County, for his leadership in public education and faithful service to Spartanburg School District 2 and wishes him much happiness and success in his new position following his retirement as principal at Boiling Springs High.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. White.
