A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO MRS. GWENDOLYN WASHINGTON-RICHARDSON OF RICHLAND COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM HAND MIDDLE SCHOOL.

Whereas, it has been brought to the attention of the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives that Mrs. Gwendolyn Washington-Richardson will retire on June 2, 2000, after completing thirty-five years of service as an educator in the South Carolina Public School System; and

Whereas, for the first ten years of her teaching career Mrs. Washington-Richardson was an instructor at Lugoff Middle School; and

Whereas, she spent the last twenty-five years of her teaching career at Hand Middle School - the first twenty years as an instructor and the last five years as a guidance counselor; and

Whereas, on June 3, 2000, Hand Middle School will celebrate her dedicated service as a public school educator during a brunch that will be hosted at Hand Middle School; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the House of Representatives to pause in their deliberations to express their high regard for this dedicated public servant as she retires. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That, by this resolution, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly express their congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Gwendolyn Washington-Richardson of Richland County on the occasion of her retirement from Hand Middle School.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Gwendolyn Washington-Richardson.
