A HOUSE RESOLUTION

COMMENDING MR. REID THOMAS SHERARD OF GREENVILLE COUNTY FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AS A PAGE IN THE OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND EXTENDING TO HIM EVERY GOOD WISH AS HE PURSUES A LAW DEGREE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOL OF LAW.

Whereas, Mr. Reid Thomas Sherard is a native of Greenville County and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon B. Sherard, Jr.; and

Whereas, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina in May, 2000; and

Whereas, while a student at the University of South Carolina, Reid compiled a superior record of achievement which included receiving the Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship for postgraduate study at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and appeared on the President's List four times; and

Whereas, he also held numerous campus leadership roles as a student at the University which included President of the Garnet Circle Student Alumni Council, Vice President of his fraternity, Student Coordinator for the University Awards Day, and University 101 Peer Leader; and

Whereas, for the past three years, Reid distinguished himself as a Page in the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in an able, efficient, and effective manner; and

Whereas, Reid is leaving the office of the Speaker in the fall of 2000 to enter the University of South Carolina School of Law to pursue a law degree; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives would like to express their gratitude for his service as a Page and wish him well as he pursues a law degree. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina commend Mr. Reid Thomas Sherard of Greenville County for his distinguished service as a Page in the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and extend to him every good wish as he pursues a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Reid Thomas Sherard.
