TO AMEND ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 9, TITLE 50 OF THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO HUNTING, FISHING AND TRAPPING LICENSES, BY ADDING SECTION 50-9-65 SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE HUNTING OF CANADA GEESE WITHIN A TWO THOUSAND YARD INLAND RADIUS OF EITHER SIDE OF THE EAST BRANCH OF THE COOPER RIVER UPSTREAM OF FRENCH QUARTER CREEK, AND ITS CONTIGUOUS MARSH AND TRIBUTARY STREAMS, INCLUDING HUGER AND QUIMBY CREEKS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 9, Title 50 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 50-9-65. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, it shall be unlawful for any person to hunt Canada geese within a two thousand yard inland radius of either side of the East Branch of the Cooper River upstream of French Quarter Creek, and its contiguous marsh and tributary streams, including Huger and Quimby Creeks."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
