A BILL

TO INCREASE THE AUTHORIZED MILLAGE LEVY OF THE CHARLESTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, FOR THE 1999-2000 SCHOOL YEAR ONLY, FROM 90 TO 92.4 MILLS.

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, and effective for the 1999-2000 school year only, in order to obtain funds for school purposes the Charleston County School District Board of Trustees is authorized to impose a tax levy not to exceed 92.4 mills, exclusive of any millage imposed for bond debt service.

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
