A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

APPLAUDING "TRIVIA GUY", WILSON CASEY OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY, FOR HIS UNIQUE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND FOR HIS RECOGNITION AS A WORLD RECORD HOLDER BY THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS.

Whereas, Wilson Casey of Spartanburg County is known as "Trivia Guy" for his unmatched store of trivia knowledge; and

Whereas, Mr. Casey put that knowledge and his reputation to the test on Sunday, January 10, 1999, at Spartanburg Radio Station WKDY-AM by completing a thirty-hour marathon radio broadcast; and

Whereas, that broadcast earned him two Guinness World records: longest radio broadcast by an individual and longest trivia broadcast; and

Whereas, local new coverage of the event reports that Mr. Casey's achievements make him the only South Carolinian to appear among the world record holders highlighted in the Guinness publication. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina hereby applaud "Trivia Guy", Wilson Casey of Spartanburg County, for his unique accomplishments and for his recognition as a world record holder by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to him at 8 Hidden Springs Road, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29302.
