REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same, and recommend that the same do pass:

A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 30-4-90, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE RECORDING OF A PUBLIC MEETING, SO AS TO ALLOW THOSE IN ATTENDANCE TO VIDEO TAPE A PUBLIC MEETING.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 30-4-90(c) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(c) All or any part of a meeting of a public body may be recorded by any person in attendance by means of a tape recorder or any other means of sonic or video reproduction, except when a meeting is closed pursuant to Section 30-4-70 of this chapter, provided that in so recording there is no active interference with the conduct of the meeting. Provided, further, that the public body shall not be required to furnish recording facilities or equipment."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
