A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT UP TO THREE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED IN JANUARY, 2000, BY THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF ANY SCHOOL OF THE DARLINGTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT DURING SCHOOL YEAR 1999-2000 WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO ICE, SNOW, AND RESULTING HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Up to three school days in January, 2000, missed by students and teachers of any school of the Darlington County School District during school year 1999-2000 when the schools were closed due to ice, snow, and resulting hazardous road conditions are exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
