A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE MARLBORO COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, UP TO FOUR SCHOOL DAYS MISSED BY THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF ANY SCHOOL OF THE DISTRICT DURING THE MONTHS OF SEPTEMBER, 1999, AND JANUARY, 2000, WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. At the discretion of the Board of Trustees of the Marlboro County School District, up to four school days missed by the students and teachers of any school of the district during the months of September, 1999, and January, 2000, when the school was closed due to inclement weather, are exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
