A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAY OF JANUARY 5, 1999, MISSED BY SIXTH AND SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF GREER MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF GREENVILLE COUNTY FOR SCHOOL YEAR 1998-99 WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO THE LOSS OF HEAT IN THE BUILDING IS EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The school day of January 5, 1999, missed by sixth and seventh grade students of Greer Middle School in The School District of Greenville County for school year 1998-99 when the school was closed due to the loss of heat in the building is exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
