A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND MISS MALLORY HETZEL FOR HER MAGNIFICENT PERFORMANCE ON THE GOLF COURSE WHILE REPRESENTING THE SUMMERVILLE GIRLS GOLF TEAM AND TO CONGRATULATE HER ON WINNING THE 2001 SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, Mallory Hetzel won individual honors at the South Carolina Girls High School Golf Championship as a result of her outstanding performance on the course;

Whereas, Mallory Hetzel is a freshman at Summerville High School, and with her extraordinary talents, is sure to continue her winning ways on the links; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Girls High School Golf Championship was held in the town of Prosperity, South Carolina, at the Mid Carolina Golf Club; and

Whereas, in her quest for the state title, Mallory shot a four under par on the course for a score of sixty-nine, and with her tremendous performance, she not only won the state championship, but also set a course record; and

Whereas, Mallory Hetzel was recently named the South Carolina AAAA Woman Athlete of the Year, the most prestigious award given to female athletes in the Palmetto State; and

Whereas, Mallory has developed her golf game and achieved great success with the help of her coach, Fred Edwards; and

Whereas, the game of golf has grown into a world-wide recreation played by men and women of all ages, and in South Carolina golf has become critical to the success of the state's tourism industry; and

Whereas, the Senate is proud to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of Miss Mallory Hetzel and the members hope her outstanding golf game will continue to improve and wish her every success in the future. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, commend Miss Mallory Hetzel for her magnificent performance on the golf course while representing the Summerville Girls Golf Team and congratulate her on winning the 2001 South Carolina High School Girls Golf Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Miss Mallory Hetzel of Summerville.
