A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO DIRECT THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO CONDUCT A STUDY TO DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF ALLOWING HOME SCHOOLED STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND THE IMPACT OF SUCH PARTICIPATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The State Department of Education is directed to conduct a study to determine the feasibility of allowing home schooled students to participate in extracurricular activities and the impact of allowing such participation. A report on the findings of the study shall be presented to the Senate Education Committee and the House Education and Public Works Committee no later than January 15, 2002.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
