TO AMEND CHAPTER 1, TITLE 11, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO GENERAL PROVISIONS FOR PUBLIC FINANCE, BY ADDING SECTION 11-1-130 SO AS TO REQUIRE DISCLOSURE OF MONIES PAID BY A STATE CONTRACTOR, AND TO WHOM THEY WERE PAID, IN CONNECTION WITH OBTAINING THE CONTRACT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. .Chapter 1, Title 11 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 11-1-130. A private entity that is a contractor with the State or any agency, commission, or department of the State, must disclose, upon written inquiry, the amount of any commission, referral fee, finder's fee, consulting fee, contingency fee, or other monies paid in connection with obtaining the contract and the name of the person to whom the monies were paid."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
