A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND JAROD GERALD OF MULLINS HIGH SCHOOL FOR AN OUTSTANDING BASKETBALL SEASON THAT ENDED WITH HIS BEING NAMED THE CLASS AA MR. BASKETBALL, THE AWARD GIVEN TO THE TOP SENIOR BASKETBALL PLAYER IN EACH SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL CLASSIFICATION.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to learn that Jarod Gerald was named Mr. Basketball in South Carolina for Class AA, the award given for the state's most outstanding senior basketball player in his team's classification; and

Whereas, Jarod Gerald averaged twenty-four points a game, eight rebounds, six assists, and six steals a game to lead his team to the Class AA Lower State Finals; and

Whereas, he was named the Region VIII-AA player of the year and also was an all-state performer; and

Whereas, Jarod Gerald will be attending college at the University of Georgia where he signed a grant-in-aid to play basketball with the Bulldogs; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish this talented athlete and fine young man good luck and good fortune in his upcoming challenges and opportunities that his athletic scholarship will provide and are very proud of his being named Mr. Basketball. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, commend Jarod Gerald of Mullins High School on his outstanding basketball season that ended with his being named the Class AA Mr. Basketball, the award given to the top senior basketball player in each South Carolina high school classification.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jarod Gerald.
