TAKING THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT TO RECOGNIZE ANNIE FRANCES CLARK FOR HER TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AS ANDERSON COUNTY AUDITOR AND OFFERING HER THE SINCEREST GRATITUDE OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR HER DILIGENCE AND DEDICATION.
Whereas, Annie Frances Clark is a lifelong resident of Anderson County, having been born there to the late Hoyt and Savannah Ashley Martin; and
Whereas, she joined the Auditor's Office staff in September 1948, and was elected Auditor in November 1976; and
Whereas, Mrs. Clark has seen many changes in the Auditor's Office, including the computerization of taxes, and helped spearhead the effort for the Management Information Systems division of Anderson County that is in place today, serving the taxpayers more effectively with a local response time and quality personnel; and
Whereas, her dedication to the taxpayers and her reputation for excellent service have not gone unrecognized, as she served as President of the South Carolina Auditors, Treasurers, and Tax Collectors Association, was honored recently by them with the L. H. Sonny Siau Award of Excellence, and received the South Carolina Department of Revenue Directors' Award for Excellence in Public Service; and
Whereas, with her retirement only months away, Mrs. Clark is leaving the Anderson County Auditor's Office well entrenched in the Twenty-First Century, including the recent addition of the Internet homepage for the Auditor's Office that offers forms for taxpayers to download and use at their convenience; and
Whereas, Annie Frances Clark is a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson and she and her late husband of fifty-eight years, G. B. Clark, are the proud parents of a son, William Martin Clark. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, take this occasion to recognize Annie Frances Clark for her twenty-five years as Anderson County Auditor and offer her the sincerest gratitude of the House of Representatives for her diligence and dedication.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Annie Frances Clark.
