A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MR. CHARLES "CHUCK" ROBERT CONNER III OF FLORENCE COUNTY FOR BEING AWARDED THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD BY THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA ON JUNE 3, 2001, AND EXTENDING BEST WISHES AS HE ENTERS HIS FRESHMAN YEAR AS A STUDENT AT DAVIDSON COLLEGE.

Whereas, Mr. Charles "Chuck" Robert Conner III is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles R. Conner, Jr.; and

Whereas, he attends Trinity Collegiate School in Florence County, and is an active member of St. Michael United Methodist Church; and

Whereas, upon graduation Chuck will attend Davidson College; and

Whereas, Chuck is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 434 which meets at All Saints Episcopal Church in Florence; and

Whereas, he has been involved in scouting for nine years; and

Whereas, having completed all the necessary requirements and having successfully passed a Board of Review, Chuck will be presented the Eagle Scout Award on June 3, 2001; and

Whereas, the Eagle Scout Award is the highest advancement rank in scouting of which only four percent of all boy scouts have earned; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations to recognize the great accomplishments of this son of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate Mr. Charles "Chuck" Robert Conner III of Florence County for being awarded the Eagle Scout Award by the Boy Scouts of America on June 3, 2001, and extend best wishes to him as he enters his freshman year as a student at Davidson College.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Charles "Chuck" Robert Conner III.
