A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS AND COACHES OF THE RICHLAND NORTHEAST HIGH SCHOOL "CAVALIERS" BOYS TRACK AND FIELD TEAM ON WINNING THE 2001 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ON MAY 12, 2001.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina are pleased to learn that the Richland Northeast High School Boys Track Team finished in first place at this year's 2001 State Championship, tied with Summerville High School; and

Whereas, the Cavaliers accumulated a total of seventy-four points and had first place finishes in the four by one-hundred meter relay, four by eight-hundred meter relay, one-hundred meter, and the two-hundred meter events; and

Whereas, the 2001 Boys State Track and Field Class AAAA Championship was the Cavaliers first track title. The excellent coaching of Head Coach Toussaint Kennedy, along with the able assistant coaches, clearly paid significant dividends to the success of this outstanding team; and

Whereas, in recognition of the many hours of practice, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice reflecting the Richland Northeast "Cavaliers" Boys Track and Field Team winning the 2001 State Championship, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina publicly recognize this outstanding group of young men, their coaches, and supporting school officials, upon their tremendous victory and wish them continued success in the future. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate the members and coaches of the Richland Northeast High School Boys Track and Field Team on winning the 2001 Class AAAA State Championship on May 12, 2001.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Toussaint Kennedy.
