A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA UPON THE DEATH OF MR. JOSEPH BRITTON PACK, JR., OF THE TOWN OF PINEWOOD, AND TO EXTEND DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the recent death of Mr. Joseph Britton Pack, Jr., of the Town of Pinewood; and

Whereas, he was the son of the late Joseph Britton Pack, Sr. and the late Mary Emily Ingram Pack; and

Whereas, Mr. Pack was instrumental in making the Santee Cooper Lakes a major tourist destination and vital to the surrounding rural economies as owner and operator of Pack's Landing in the Town of Rimini; and

Whereas, he served his State and country with distinction as a member of the South Carolina National Guard; and

Whereas, Mr. Pack was a faithful member of Pinewood Baptist Church; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution extend their deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Mr. Pack's wife, Mrs. Rose Marie Newman Pack, and their three sons, Jody, Stevie, and Andy, and his other family members and friends upon their loss. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina hereby express their deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of one of the most dedicated business leaders in his community and this State, Mr. Joseph Pack, Jr., of the Town of Pinewood, upon his death.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mr. Joseph Pack, Jr.
