Whereas, the Tigers of Swansea High won their tenth state wrestling crown on February 23, 2002, at Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, their previous last crown having come in 1995; and
Whereas, a trio of Swansea wrestlers claimed individual state titles, including Matthew Briggman (second consecutive state title in heavyweight division), Darius Caldwell (in the 171-pound class), and Maurice Eazel; and
Whereas, the Swansea head coach is Chad Meredith; the team won the state crown because of its talent, hard work, determination, and unity, and we are delighted to recognize the Tigers on this outstanding accomplishment. Now, therefore,
