A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND GERRI MERCK OF CHAPIN FOR TWENTY-SIX YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE STUDENTS, ADMINISTRATION, STAFF, AND FACULTY OF CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL AS A MEDIA ASSISTANT, AND TO EXTEND EVERY GOOD WISH TO HER AND HER FAMILY ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Gerri Merck of Chapin has been affiliated with Lexington County School District 5 and employed as a Media Assistant at Chapin High School for twenty-six years; and

Whereas, beginning in a library equipped with only books, Gerri Merck has contributed significantly to the progression and development of what is now a true media center at Chapin High School, using computers, presentation systems, and a variety of video and media equipment to further the education of her students; and

Whereas, over the years, Gerri Merck has proved to be an invaluable part of a dedicated team of teachers, administrators, and staff at Chapin High School whose contribution as a Media Assistant has enhanced the education and greatly enriched the lives of countless students; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper that the members of the House of Representatives recognize the tremendous contribution to the education of countless students made by Gerri Merck and her outstanding service to Chapin High School over many years on the occasion of her retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend Gerri Merck of Chapin for twenty-six years of outstanding service to the students, administration, staff, and faculty of Chapin High School as a Media Assistant, and extend every good wish to her and her family on the occasion of her retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Gerri Merck of Chapin.
