TO EXTEND THE APPRECIATION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO CHERYL SPENCER OF COLUMBIA FOR HER TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS OF SELFLESS DEDICATION TO THE VITAL EDUCATION OF THIS STATE'S YOUNGEST CITIZENS.
Whereas, Cheryl Spencer has owned, directed, and taught at the Montessori Children's House of Columbia for twenty-eight years; and
Whereas, her successes in the area of early childhood education are founded on Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degrees in Education from the University of South Carolina and certification for three-to six-year-olds from the American Montessori Society; and
Whereas, Cheryl Spencer's greatest desire for her young students has been for them to attain independence in their thoughts and in their actions; and
Whereas, in addition to acting as a consultant in supporting Montessori teachers in the public schools of Allendale County and at Brockman Elementary School, this tireless and unselfish volunteer gives her time and energy to Eastminster Presbyterian Church and to Brockman School's Improvement Council and Watkins Elementary School; and
Whereas, Cheryl Spencer's legacy to South Carolina is generations of citizens who respect the environment, other people, and themselves. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives extend their appreciation to Cheryl Spencer of Columbia for her twenty-eight years of selfless dedication to the vital education of this state's youngest citizens.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Spencer.
