A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE WANDO HIGH SCHOOL "WARRIORS" BOYS SOCCER TEAM AND HEAD COACH TOM REILLY FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON AND ON CAPTURING THE 2002 CLASS AAAA STATE SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the Wando High School "Warriors" Boys Soccer Team clinched the 2002 Class AAAA State Soccer Championship by defeating Irmo High School, the No. 1 high school boys soccer team in the nation, in the second five-minute, sudden death overtime completing an improbable comeback from a 2-0 deficit and gave Wando a 3-2 victory; and

Whereas, an even higher ranking needs to be figured out for Wando, but the Class AAAA title over the previously unbeaten Irmo team will do for now; and

Whereas, it was the biggest comeback yet for the "Warriors" who finished the season with a superb 24-3-1 record; and

Whereas, Head Coach Tom Reilly, along with his Assistant Coaches David Cave, Dick Gross, Ted Guerard, Michael Petry, Jared Reilly, and Monte Ford together with Trainer Mark Buchman, have brought recognition to Wando High School following their team's outstanding season and championship performance; and

Whereas, the support and cooperation of Wando High School's Athletic Director Bob Hayes, Principal Lucy Beckham, and faculty certainly added to the accomplishments of these fine young athletes; and

Whereas, this championship team consisted of: Chatham Rowe, Greg Webster, Camillo Agudelo, Josh Woods, Eric Richardson, Troy Pinckney, Matt Darby, Josh Ashy, Ryan Shaak, Michael Conway, Issac Cromedy, Scott Milroth, Gus Postal, Joey Tuk, Brendan Reilly, Charles Balser, Patrick Graves, Fernando Gomez, Wayne Osborne, Bradley Cole, Jimmy Moore, Patrick Egan, Brandon Huell, Aaron Gentry, Trenton Shook, Chris MacEachern, Timmy Costanzo, David Prohaska, and Cody Natale; and

Whereas, the countless hours of practice, hard work, and sacrifices reflect the "Warriors" determination and dream of becoming the 2002 State Soccer Champions; and

Whereas, we are proud to pause in our deliberations to publicly recognize and congratulate each player, Head Coach Tom Reilly, and other team and school officials upon the conclusion of a memorable and triumphant season. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, extend congratulations to the Wando High School "Warriors" Boys Soccer Team and Head Coach Tom Reilly for an exceptional season and on capturing the 2002 Class AAAA State Soccer Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Wando High School Boys Soccer Team and Head Coach Tom Reilly.
