Whereas, on November 5, 2000, Jackie Moore McNeill of West Columbia represented the State of South Carolina and competed against thirty contestants, ranging in age from fifty-nine to eighty-four, from twenty-three states and the Virgin Islands in the Ms. Senior Sweetheart of America pageant which was held in Fall River, Massachusetts; and

Whereas, Mrs. McNeill impressed the judges with her singing talent, her grace and ease at answering questions from the judges' panel, and her poise. She was crowned Ms. Senior Sweetheart of America for 2001; and

Whereas, Jackie McNeill retired from Lexington School District Two in 1994 where she taught choral music and served as a consultant for fine arts. She is currently employed part time as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina, supervising student teachers; and

Whereas, Mrs. McNeill was named Ms. South Carolina Senior in 1999 and Ms. Central Midlands Senior in 1998; and

Whereas, she has three children, three stepchildren, and fifteen grandchildren. She is married to Dr. Charles McNeill, Professor Emeritus, University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Jackie McNeill brings honor to our State and her community. She truly deserves our praise and admiration. Now, therefore,
