TO COMMEND THE RICHLAND POST SIX AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL TEAM FOR THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING THE 2000 SEASON AND TO RECOGNIZE THEM FOR WINNING THE AMERICAN LEGION STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, THE AMERICAN LEGION SOUTHEAST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, AND FOR PLACING FOURTH IN THE AMERICAN LEGION WORLD SERIES.
Whereas, the South Carolina State Senate is pleased to learn that the Richland Post Six American Legion Baseball Team completed a very successful 2000 baseball season by winning the State Championship, the Southeast Regional Championship, and placing fourth in the American Legion World Series; and
Whereas, the 2000 Richland Post Six American Legion Baseball Team was coached by David Knowles and he was assisted by Thane Maness, W. C. Peeler, Gene Frye, and John Neale; and
Whereas, the 2000 Richland Post Six American Legion Baseball Team was made up of twenty very talented players. Those players were Josh Brettelle, Lance Laury, Ben Thumond, Anthony Carbone, Adam Hensley, Randy Causey, Brandon Roberts, Happel Scurry, D. J. Smith, Dominique Bull, Andrew Burnette, Franklin Jones, Nate Lloyd, Terry Scipio, Forrest Williamson, Matt Awtrey, Jared Kelly, Clayton Crantford, Adam Padget, and Jay Draffin; and
Whereas, the 2000 Richland Post Six American Legion Baseball Team has made their community and State very proud by performing so very well in the state championships, regional championships, and world series, its is most befitting that the South Carolina State Senate pause in their deliberations to congratulate, recognize, and commend the feats reached during the season and the post-season. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the South Carolina State Senate, by this resolution, commend the Richland Post Six American Legion Baseball Team for their accomplishments during the 2000 season and to recognize them for winning the American Legion State Championship, the American Legion Southeast Regional Championship, and for placing fourth in the American Legion World Series.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Richland Post Six American Legion Baseball Team.
