A BILL

TO REQUIRE ALL SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN LEXINGTON COUNTY TO OBSERVE ALL LEGAL STATE HOLIDAYS BY CLOSING SCHOOLS AND SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICES ON THESE HOLIDAYS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, beginning with the 2002-2003 school year, Lexington School Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4 and Lexington-Richland School District 5 shall observe all legal state holidays, as enumerated in Section 53-5-10 of the 1976 Code, by closing all schools and school district offices on these holidays.

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
