TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE BILL MAHAN OF MONCKS CORNER ON BEING NAMED THE 2001 SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AND TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION FOR HIS CONTINUED LOYALTY AND SERVICE TO THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina are pleased to learn that Bill Mahan of Moncks Corner was named 2001 South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Employee of the Year on Wednesday, August 22, 2001; and
Whereas, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is the advocate for and steward of the state's Natural Resources; and
Whereas, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Employee of the Year Award is given annually to someone who epitomizes the dedication and professionalism of the department in protecting our state's natural resources for use and enjoyment by South Carolinians now and in the future; and
Whereas, Bill Mahan is a shining example of what an employee of the South Carolina Department of Resources should be; and
Whereas, Bill Mahan has been active in many wildlife and natural resources management projects throughout the State. He has worked with the Santee Cooper and Canal Wildlife Management, the Sandy Beach Waterfowl area, the Public Dove Field Program, and the Alligator Project; and
Whereas, the General Assembly is proud to recognize such a diligent citizen and truly deserving person as Bill Mahan for receiving the 2001 South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Employee of the Year Award. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate Bill Mahan of Moncks Corner on being named the 2001 South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Employee of the Year and express appreciation for his continued loyalty and service to the State of South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bill Mahan of Moncks Corner.
