A BILL

TO AMEND ACT 178 OF 1963, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CONVERSE AREA FIRE DISTRICT IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO INCREASE THE DISTRICT'S BORROWING LIMIT FROM TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS TO EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 5(h) of Act 178 of 1963 is amended to read:

    "(h)    To borrow not exceeding twenty eight hundred fifty thousand dollars on such the terms and for such a period as to the fire control board may seem determines most beneficial for the fire district in anticipation of taxes. The indebtedness shall must be evidenced by a note issued by the members of the board and the county treasurer. The full faith, credit, and taxing power of the Converse Area Fire District is hereby irrevocably pledged for the payment of the indebtedness."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
