A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF ISIDORE DENEMARK OF SUMTER COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Isidore Denemark of Sumter County has died at the age of ninety-one; and

Whereas, Mr. Denemark was born in 1910 in Mayesville; he graduated from New York University and was one of the first certified public accountants in New York City; and

Whereas, he was known as a business wizard, genius, and visionary who shared his knowledge and connections to help many start-up businesses in Sumter -- businesses in which he had no personal stake; and

Whereas, he owned the Carolina Theater, Denemark's Tiny Town, and Mount Vernon Inn; he was part-owner of the Brunswick Gamecock Lanes, was a former partner of Sumter Builders, and served as CPA for Boyle Construction Company; and

Whereas, Mr. Denemark was known for his generous spirit and business ability; many companies turned to him for guidance and advice, and he always gladly provided assistance; he was an outstanding individual who will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses deepest sorrow at the death of Isidore Denemark of Sumter County and extends sincerest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Denemark's family.
