A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MRS. LUCY ROWE OF THE PLEASANT HILL COMMUNITY IN GEORGETOWN COUNTY UPON THE OCCASION OF HER NINETIETH BIRTHDAY AND TO EXTEND TO HER BEST WISHES FOR MANY MORE HAPPY BIRTHDAYS TO COME.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to learn that Mrs. Lucy Rowe of the Pleasant Hill community in Georgetown County will be celebrating her ninetieth birthday; and

Whereas, she is one of the most beloved members of the Pleasant Hill community and is admired and respected by all those who know and love her; and

Whereas, Mrs. Rowe is still active in the Folly Grove Garden Club, and she is one of the oldest members of the South Carolina Farm Bureau; and

Whereas, she is a lifelong member of the Center Baptist Church and her life has been an example of her faith and service to God; and

Whereas, she and her late husband, James, were blessed with five children: Joyce B. Tyler, Shelby J. Douglas, Patsy C. Williams, Jimmy E. Rowe, and Mary E. Owens. Mrs. Rowe also has fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, with one on the way, and one great-great-grandchild expected in August; and

Whereas, her large and wonderful family remain an integral part of her life; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to extend to Mrs. Rowe their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on this wonderful occasion. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Mrs. Lucy Rowe of the Pleasant Hill community in Georgetown County upon the occasion of her ninetieth birthday and extend to her best wishes for many more happy birthdays to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Lucy Rowe.
