A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE MISS AUNDREA COOK OF GILBERT FOR BEING NAMED SOUTH CAROLINA'S JUNIOR MISS, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS AT THE NATIONAL COMPETITION IN MOBILE, ALABAMA IN JUNE AND IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Miss Aundrea Cook was named South Carolina's Junior Miss at the program held on July 18 and 19, 2003, where she was also named the overall poise winner in the competition; and

Whereas, as one of twenty-six representatives from across the State, Aundrea was chosen to represent South Carolina in Mobile, Alabama in June of 2004, at the national Junior Miss competition; and

Whereas, Aundrea is the daughter of Andrew and Abbie Cook and has one brother, Andrew Christopher, who attends Clemson University; and

Whereas, Aundrea's extracurricular school activities include the Beta Club, Student Council, SAT Team, Key Club, Varsity Football and Basketball Cheerleading, and the Lexington School District One Student Advisory Board; and

Whereas, Aundrea also was the Palmetto Girls State representative for 2003, where she was appointed Supreme Court Justice, and she was first in Job Seeking Skills in the State Health Occupation Students of America competition; and

Whereas, an avid dancer for the past sixteen years, Aundrea dances with the Stepping Out Dance Company of Lexington; and

Whereas, graduating second in her class, Aundrea was a Coca-Cola Clemson Scholar, Furman University Scholar, Erskine College Scholar, Lander University Scholar, Coker College Scholar, Presbyterian College Scholar, USCA Scholar, and a Duke T.I.P. Junior Scholar. She has been accepted by Furman University, Erskine College, Lander University, University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, University of Georgia, Georgia Institute of Technology, Davidson College, and Duke University; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize such an outstanding South Carolinian as Miss Aundrea Cook for her exceptional accomplishments as she enters a new phase of Junior Miss competition and life. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Miss Aundrea Cook of Gilbert for being named South Carolina's Junior Miss, and wish her much success at the national competition in Mobile, Alabama in June and in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Miss Aundrea Cook, South Carolina's Junior Miss.
