TO AMEND SECTION 50-13-1189, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE PROHIBITION ON THE POSSESSION OF GAME FISH OR GAME FISH TACKLE WHILE FISHING FOR NONGAME FISH, SO AS TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL EXCEPTION FOR A PERSON WHOSE NONGAME TACKLE CONSISTS OF TROT LINES.
Amend Title To Conform
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 50-13-1189 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:
"Section 50-13-1189. Unless specifically allowed by this chapter, it is unlawful for any a person to have game fish in his possession game fish or fishing tackle capable of catching game fish while fishing for nongame fish with nongame tackle authorized for use by this chapter. The provisions of this section do not apply to a person whose nongame tackle consists of bows and arrows or cast nets."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
